Information about Obstetric Care and On-Call Physicians
We are a group of
four physicians. We understand that you will choose one of our
physicians for your pregnancy care. In addition to our
physicians, you may be scheduled to see one of our Nurse
Practitioners.
If you call our
office after hours in need of medical advice, our answering
service will transfer your call to a Consulting Nurse. This
nurse will be able to assess your needs and determine if you
need immediate medical care by the on call physician.
Because of the
demands of a busy call schedule, our physicians share night and
weekend call with each other and the physicians of Multicare
Covington OBGYN. (Drs. Calvin Wallace, Agnes Glover, Keri Brown,
David Minehan and Olga Khait).
In addition, at
times we may rely on the service
Valley Medical Center’s OBGYN Hospitalist team. These are
board certified physicians specializing in obstetrics and
gynecology. The hospitalists are available 24 hours a day –
seven days a week. As a backup, this service ensures that there
is an OBGYN specialist available to provide care to our patients
at any time of the day or night.
When it is time for you to have your baby, please be aware that
your personal obstetrician may not be the doctor who will be
with you at the time of your delivery.
Our goal is to provide you with the best possible care
during your pregnancy. If you have any concerns, please talk to
your doctor or nurse!

With all the books, videos and classes, information overload is a given during the
nine long months of pregnancy. But don't sweat it. There's really only a
handful of things you absolutely must know:
-
Do not look at your rear end, It's
spreading and there's nothing you can do about it.
-
Buy a night-light so you won't
trip on the way to the bathroom for the 100th time.
-
Don't make a deal with your
in-laws when discussing baby names. It could come back to haunt you.
-
Keep your legs shaved at all
times.
-
Stock up on tissues, You're
bound to cry at the drop of a hat.
-
Two words: easy haircut.
-
Don't eat before you watch the
Lamaze video.
-
Remove sharp jewelry before
heading to the hospital. Your mate will thank you.
-
Don't even consider looking at
the placenta
